This is where we appeal to the hearts and minds of our fellow adventurers to look deep within themselves and understand what is really important in the world. Are we doing enough and how can we use our experiences to make a difference? This is where we help you do just that.It is important to realize that to travel and visit other countries and cultures is an honor and a PRIVILEGE.
Whenever you travel you are always a guest of your hosts whether they be the local shepherds inhabiting a stone hut at 6000 metres, a high pass or the solitary hillsides. We aim to integrate our travelers through our guides and other staff with the surrounding environments, both natural and cultural. We all learn and I know that we at Himalayan Exposure will always be learning, always changing and evolving, hopefully for the better. We may not always do what is right but we do what we feel is right in our heart, based on years of experience and extensive consultation with the local inhabitants of the particular region. The hope is to ensure a large percentage of our revenue can be devoted to changing lives for the better.
Particular trips will often have a percentage of revenue allocated to particular relevant causes. On other occasions we will call on our travelers to make a difference. It takes time and a lot of research to determine the most worthy causes to whom we can offer assistance. Our visit MUST be positive for the people whose land we pass through and whose lives we touch. To travel otherwise is to travel selfishly, and we strive to avoid such a situation.
